چکیده

An assessment of the spatio-temporal variability humus content in soil is presented, and atendency its decreasing agro-climatic regions Luhansk region established. The cartogramsof spatial distribution tendencies changing soils theLuhansk for 20 years have been obtained. A very high (from 4 to 6.5 %) isobserved northern, central, and, partially, southern eastern parts first agroclimaticregion, where mainly thick ordinary medium-humus chornozems are located loess rocks. The Effect of Spatial Variability and Anisotropy of Soils on Bearing Capacity of Shallow Foundations

Naturally occurred soil deposits inherit heterogeneity and anisotropy in their strength properties. The main purpose of this paper is to model the soil stratum with anisotropy consideration and spatially varying undrained shear strength by using random field theory coupled with finite difference numerical analysis to evaluate their effect on the bearing capacity of the shallow foundations. In t...

Spatiotemporal variability in cascade juggling

Three expert jugglers and three intermediate jugglers performed a three-ball cascade pattern under spatially and temporally constrained conditions. In the spatially constrained conditions the balls were thrown to a specific height, whereas in the temporally constrained conditions the balls were thrown to the beeps of a metronome. The experiment was conducted to examine the hypothesis that juggl...

Assessing spatiotemporal variability of drought trend in Iran using RDI index

Drought is one of the natural phenomena which occurs in all climates in different parts of the world. Iran is located in the dry belt of the world. The increase of desertification, drought reoccurrence, and destruction by human in this geographical region needs more studies on spatial and temporal trend of rainfall. In this study, trends of climatic drought during 1975-76/ 2004-05 in seasonal a...

Humusica 2, article 14: Anthropogenic soils and humus systems - Comparing classification systems

The aim of this article is to present a sort of state of the art from a soil classification point of view. How far are soils from their original natural state? A few years ago, the two most important soil classification systems added a classification of anthropogenic soils. Even so, although the concept of anthropogenic soil differs slightly in the two systems, it is easy to recognize these soi...

Spatiotemporal variability of alkalinity in the Mediterranean Sea

The paper provides a basin-scale assessment of the spatiotemporal distribution of alkalinity in the Mediterranean Sea. The assessment is made by integrating the available observations into a 3-D transport–biogeochemical model. The results indicate the presence of complex spatial patterns: a marked west-to-east surface gradient of alkalinity is coupled to secondary negative gradients: (1) from m...
